To Whom it May Concern,
I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to VA Loans Hawaii, specifically TONY DIAS. I found myself writing this letter a couple of times, and trying to figure out how to really say, "Thank you" --
Imagine being in escrow a total of 3 times...2 of the Loan Officers were absolute crooks. I had the BEST real estate agent, but both loan officers were really not trustworthy. Imagine THE DAY you were ready to sign for a house and the loan officer calls you (only after you ask him to call you because you haven't spoke to him in over a week) and says, "...I was scared to tell you that you didn't get the loan..." Nightmare!
Needless to say, I was extremely leery of loan officers. In fact I had planned going with a larger bank that I knew may get a larger percent of my money, but would be decent and honest. My agent took me to coffee and said, "...I have a friend that does VA Loans specifically..." -- She KNEW from the look on my face that I wasn't hearing any of it. After an hour, TONY DIAS called her and asked where we were. It was after hours, he had church, but he took the time to call her and ask. When my agent said, would you talk to him on the phone, he said, "... I would rather do it in person..." That was the first GOOD indicator that we were working with someone who doesn't treat his customers as a number.
I won't go in to the boring details or specifics of my numbers, but I encourage you to look at my file. I have authorized TONY DIAS to show my file and use it as an example. I will say this, TONY DIAS looked me in the eyes, and said, "JD, I can get you this loan..."
Not only did he lock us in at the lowest possible percent, he did more than that:
- He follows through.
- He makes realistic deadlines and KEEPS HIS PROMISES.
- He looks out for the Veteran.
- He looks you in the eye, and tells you the truth.
There is a reason TONY DIAS has much success - He's professional, and 100% trustworthy.

Tony, I just want to express my gratitude to you for your assistance with the financing of my recently purchased home. As an older veteran who "used up" all his VA loan benefits 40 years ago, I would never have known that the rules had changed and been able to take advantage of another VA loan had it not been for your free seminar. You are doing a great service to the military and veteran community and something that I believe is not being done by anyone else.
Whenever the opportunity arises, I have been encouraging other veterans and realtors to attend your seminars so that they can benefit from the information which you are sharing. I will continue to do so. Thank you so much for the information which you provided that made my obtaining a VA loan possible. And thank you even more for you assistance with the mortgage process. You made it very easy. I will admit that I had reservations about dealing with a mortgage broker on another island, but I cannot imagine the process being any smoother than you mad it. Often, we fail to recognize the outstanding services our civilians provide for our military members, veterans, and their families. I would like to nominate Mr. Tony Dias for the Above and Beyond Award for his efforts in educating our Hawaii service members on home purchasing entitlements and benefits through the Veterans Assistance (VA) Program.
Growing up as a military dependant, Mr. Dias was able to experience firsthand the day to day challenges our military members face. From this experience he developed a passion to learn all there is to know about what our service members and veterans in Hawaii are entitled to when it comes to purchasing a home through the VA program. Mr. Dias is a caring individual who provides significant contributions to our Hawaii military community by conducting free seminars at various locations around the State of Hawaii. These free seminars are prepared three times a month so that service members and veterans will have a place to get the most up to date information on their home purchasing benefits. In addition to this, he also provides one on one meetings so that individual needs can be addressed. Also, Mr. Dias has crossed over and is now educating realtors and financial institutions on VA benefits so that home purchasing transactions are smooth and painless.
On a personal note, Mr. Dias has helped my family and I purchase our first home through the Veterans Assistance Program. His knowledge on VA program and reputation of treating service members with genuine care was spreading like wildfire through my peers at work. I decided to meet with him to see what he had to offer me and my family. During our first meeting he informed me on everything I needed to know about purchasing my home through the VA program and not once did he ever make me feel pressured into doing anything. A couple months later my family and I was a proud owner of my first home. Now, I am also one of the many people at work who is in awe by his commitment to the military community in Hawaii.
In closing, I would like to reiterate how much Mr. Tony Dias has helped our Hawaii service members, veterans, and their families. His dedication in assisting and educating our veterans on their home purchasing benefits is truly deserving of recognition. I am happy to know that there are people like Mr. Tony Dias who serves his country by taking care of the men and women of military service.

My wife read and article in the Midweek about Tony's VA loans seminar and said that we ought to look into it. So we decided to attend one and learned that we had a good chance of getting one. At the end of the seminar Tony had a few of his loan officers on hand to answer any question that we had. Joe happened to be the loan officer that we spoke to and we took his business card at the end of the night. A few days later Joe called us and we made an appointment to see him. What was so great about him was that he saw us at our convenience and not just for that first meeting, but every meeting after that. He was so helpful and gave us information that also gave us the confidence to go through with applying for a VA loan. He truly went above and beyond the call of duty and notified us on various parts of the loan process which needed our attention. He really didn't have to, but he did and as it was we were able to close on our loan only a week later from our projected date. Even after our loan closed Joe called us a week later to see if we were settling in well into our new home. He even called us two weeks later to wish both my wife and I a happy birthday! He helped us realize our dream of owning a home. and has become a trusted friend and we are telling our friends about him and his outstanding work.
